Introduction
The Gifu Prefecture Onsen Association was established in March 1994 with the aim of promoting the protection and proper development and use of hot spring resources, conducting surveys, research, and information collection related to hot springs, improving the environment of hot spring areas, and fostering friendship among members. Since then, we have continued our activities.
The association consists of regular members, special members, and supporting members, with a total membership of about 250 people (as of January 2026).
In Gifu Prefecture, in addition to well-known hot spring areas such as Gero Onsen and Okuhida Onsenkyo (Hirayu, Fukuji, Shin-Hirayu, Tochio, Shin-Hotaka Onsen), there are also radon hot springs scattered throughout the Tono region of Gifu Prefecture. Furthermore, there are many hot springs (areas) such as Osakacho Onsenkyo (Yuja, Shimojima, Nigori Onsen), which is designated as a national recreation hot spring area, and Shirakawago Hirase Onsen.
As a platform for disseminating information about the hot springs of Gifu Prefecture, our association has established this website. We will continue to provide various information to help you learn about the charm of Gifu Prefecture's hot springs, and we look forward to welcoming everyone from across the country to the hot springs of Gifu Prefecture.
