The underground hot water not only creates large-scale deposits like ore deposits but also generates various minerals such as silica minerals like quartz, agate, and opal, silicate minerals, carbonate minerals like calcite and aragonite, sulfate minerals, and sulfur compounds in small pathways of hot water and spaces in rocks where hot water permeates. Many minerals that are valued as gemstones are also precipitated and formed from hot water existing underground.
