【Hida Region】Hirayu Otaki Ice Festival
Hirayu Otaki (64m high, 6m wide), one of Japan's 100 Famous Waterfalls.
The powerfully flowing waterfall water transforms into a giant ice pillar with the arrival of severe winter in late December.
The magnificent sight is lit up, creating a fantastic world on winter nights.
During the day, you can also experience the beauty of nature through the contrast between the grand ice pillar glowing blue-white and the snow.
The suspension bridge over Otakigawa is also decorated with illuminations, creating an even more fantastic landscape.

Snow Fireworks
Date: February 15 (Saturday) - 25 (Tuesday), daily during the event period
Launch location: Around Hirayu Onsen Ski Resort
Time: Around 8:30 PM
(May be cancelled due to bad weather or launch time may vary depending on weather conditions.)
Content: Fireworks will be launched in the clear air under a starry sky.
Best viewed from inside the ski resort.
Nukutomari Bazaar
Date: February 15 (Sunday) - 25 (Wednesday), daily during the event period
Location: In front of Restaurant Ankiya
Time: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Content: Zenzai (sweet red bean soup), amazake (sweet sake), and sake from the barrel (free)
Free Shuttle Bus Service
Period: February 15 (Sunday) - 25 (Wednesday), daily during the event period
Route: Hirayu Onsen Bus Terminal ⇔ In front of Ankiya (Ice Festival venue entrance)
Content: A dedicated shuttle bus (free) runs between Hirayu Onsen Bus Terminal and Ankiya during the light-up hours.
*Departure from Hirayu Onsen Bus Terminal: First bus 6:50 PM, last bus 8:15 PM
Departure from in front of Ankiya: Last bus 9:15 PM
*It takes about 25 minutes on foot from the Ice Festival entrance in front of Ankiya to the Otaki venue.
Please come prepared for cold weather.
