【Hida Region】Fukuchi Onsen Summer Festival

A traditional summer event at Fukuchi Onsen.
The lion dance "Henbetori," designated as an intangible folk cultural property of the city, is performed every evening.
This lion dance is based on a legend from ancient times when Emperor Murakami secretly visited for hot spring therapy.
During his visit, he soothed a poisonous snake that was tormenting the villagers with beautiful flute music and defeated it.
It's a unique and charming lion dance where the lion and snake engage in a spirited exchange accompanied by flute music.
